Laser Physics and Optical Technologies

Aim of the study programme

Education of high-level specialists, which are able to analize scientific, technological and production problems, to reveal and define the main aspects of the problems, to evaluate solutions and make decisions, and to make generalized conclusions working in research laboratories, hi-tech industrial companies and institutions related to laser and optics industries; provision of knowledge on up-to-date science and technology developments, creation of fundamentals necessary for implementation of research results and modern technologies in Lithuania; development of knowledge and skills for postgraduate studies.                                                   

 Intended learning outcomes

A holder of a Master's degree in Physics is able to apply modern scientific concepts and theoretical models, plan scientific and practical experiments and analyse their results, carry out the experiments using modern technological and scientific equipment. He/she has a good insight into the relationship between research and industry.                                                                        

  Occupational profiles of graduates

A graduate can work at high-technology companies and institutions providing services in laser physics and optical technologies.
