The aim of post-doctoral fellowship “Theoretical research on multipole interference for gravitational wave sources” is find atoms/ions, for which it possible to perform experiment and observe M1-E2 multipole interference in the magnetic field. Post-doctoral fellow dr. Laima Radžiūtė will be superwised by prof. habil. dr. Gediminas Gaigalas. During the project is planned to create research methodology of expected forbidden and unexpected: allowed and forbidden transitions. These transitions are important to the research of gravitational wave sources - two merging neutron stars, after one day. Theoretical research will performed with GRASP2018 program package. Relativistic multi-configurations Dirack-Hartree-Fock (MCDHF) and relativistic configuration interaction (RCI) approaches are implemented in the package. This post-doctoral fellowship will allow the research fellow to increase knowledge in theoretical atomic physics and gain knowledge experimental measurement of atomic parameters. Also to develop competence and gain knowledge by conducting research in foreign scientific center.

Duration: 2020-08-10 - 2022-08-09
