Every year on September 1st, the Vilnius University community holds its traditional procession from the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania to the University's Grand Courtyard, organised by the Vilnius University Students' Representation (VU SA).
This colourful procession draws more than 4,000 members of the University community, dressed in their faculty colours, carrying striking handmade banners and other themed decorations, and loudly chanting slogans both traditional and newly coined.
