Professional practice is a mandatory part of every Faculty of Physics undergraduate study programme done at the autumn semester of 4 year. The practice has to correspond to the study field of a particular study programme (either physics, electronic engineering or material technologies).

If Professional practice is done at the Faculty of Physics:

Suggested topics and supervisors are published by the Faculty of Physics until the 15th of September. However, students can choose practice place by their own. Professional practice can be done at scientific groups present in the Faculty of Physics, scientific groups of other faculties of Vilnius university (e.g. Center for Life Sciences, Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences), scientific groups of FTMC or other institutions whose activities correspond to the study field.

Until the beginning of October, students have to find a topic and supervisor for professional practice and sign a practice agreement if needed. Practice agreements are coordinated by the administration of the Faculty of Physics. Practice must begin at the beginning of October and finish until the beginning of the winter exam session (it is recommended to finish practice until Christmas). During the winter exam session, defence of the professional practice reports is done at the department defence commission. Professional practice is graded.
