The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Michal P. Heller (Ghent University and Jagiellonian University).

Abstract
 
Nuclear collisions at the RHIC and LHC pose the question of whether matter can thermalize over the extremely short timescales probed in these experiments. One of the leading theoretical explanations for such rapid thermalization is the emergence of attractor phenomena, including nonthermal fixed points and hydrodynamic attractors.

However, searching for these attractors in nuclear collisions is challenging: they emerge in transient dynamical regimes, while experimentally measured observables are primarily sensitive to the properties of the final state.

In this talk, Prof. Heller will discuss the current state of the field and show how cold-atom systems have already confirmed some theoretical predictions concerning these attractors. He will also discuss how present and future experiments can further advance this research program.
