Institute of applied electrodynamics and telecomunications (IAET) was established on a basis of Department of Radiophysics after the restructurization of the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University. The Institute focuses on the high level scientific work. The main topics can be divided into to subgroups:
- Investigation and development of modern telecomunication and electronic systems.
- Investigation and development of novel functional materials, nanostructures. Development of novel electrodynamical experimental techniques for investigation of such materials.
The Institute is also responsible for the education of bachelor, master and doctoral students. The institute supervises Bachelor and Master studies entitled „Electronics and telecomunication technologies“. The vision of these studies are to prepare high-level engineers who can work with novel telecomunication systems, advanced electronics and adapt in rapidly changing technological environments.
