Supercontinuum generation is a well-established and widely utilised technique for producing an extremely broadband optical spectrum, equivalent to a white-light laser. This dissertation presents the most suitable bulk solid-state materials that offer a low supercontinuum generation threshold, efficient spectral broadening, and robust long-term performance at high repetition rates (up to 80 MHz) when used with state-of-the-art, high average power, ultrafast Yb:KGW lasers. Furthermore, it highlights practical aspects of optimising high repetition rate supercontinuum generation schemes, with potential direct applicability to high average power wavelength-tunable light sources, ultrafast spectroscopy, and imaging systems.
We wish Dr Vaida a future filled with continued success, meaningful discoveries, and inspiring contributions to her field.
