The international conference, EEDS25 – Extended Hanseatic meeting on Exciton Dynamics and Spectroscopy 2025, brought together scientists from Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Scotland, Norway, and beyond.
Physicists, chemists, materials researchers, and young scientists gathered in Vilnius to share their expertise in exciton dynamics and spectroscopy — the research field how molecular excitons oscillate, propagate, interact between each other, and how can they be controlled using light and other techniques. These processes are responsible on Earth for initiating the whole energy cycle denoted by photosynthesis. Importance of excitonic processes in synthetic molecular nanomaterials has also been discussed.
Huge thanks to all participants, speakers, and organizers for the inspiring discussions, fresh ideas, and warm sense of community. Until next time.
Exciton science bridges quantum mechanics, statistical physics, solid-state physics, chemistry and biology— and plays a key role in developing next-generation green technologies.
