Two visiting scientists are coming to the Laser Nanophotonics Group at the Laser Research Center of VU Faculty of Physics.

Dr Michalis Stavrou from the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL-FORTH) in Greece will conduct experimental research at the center from October 2 to November 26 as part of the Advanced Light Technologies Excellence Center project. The scientist will seek to determine the photophysical mechanisms of photopolymerization without photoinitiators. A joint publication on this topic has already been prepared and is publicly available in collaboration with researchers from the Center. It is hoped that the scientist's visit will allow further development of this topic.

Prof. Dr Arturo Arce from the University of Twente in the Netherlands is coming for an internship and will measure the luminescence properties of Er-doped silicon-zirconium hybrid materials, which can be applied in laser 3D nanolithography.

Prof. Dr Mangirdas Malinauskas, head of the Laser Nanophotonics Group, is delighted with the growing internationalization of the faculty and the positive ratio of incoming and outgoing scientists and students that has been achieved and maintained.
