The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences is announcing three calls for proposals for researchers and students. We invite you to participate actively.
We ask candidates to send the title of the work to be submitted and an abstract of up to one page in length to the Head of the relevant Department of Faculty of Physics (ff.vu.lt/en/about/structure/departments) by 12:00 on December 1, 2025.
The 2025 prizes are named after:
KAZIMIERAS BŪGA (1879–1924) – linguistics
JUOZAS MATULIS (1889–1993) – chemistry
ADOLFAS JUCYS (1904–1974) – theoretical physics
KAZIMIERAS BARŠAUSKAS (1904–1964) – electronics and electrical engineering

Submission should include the following documents:
- Scientific paper (publication; manuscript);
- Recommendation letter from an educational institution's Senate / Science Council or LMA member; A document from Vilnius University Senate will be provided by the Research Administration Office.
- The protocol from the Faculty Council session containing details about the candidate’s work and the motivation behind the proposal;
- Information about the candidate.

Submission should include the following documents:
- Scientific paper in accordance with annexe no. 1;
- If annexe no. 1 is submitted in English, provide a translation of the name of the submitted scientific paper and summary;
- List of relevant publications (with scientific article metrics);
- The protocol from the Faculty Council session containing details about the candidate’s work and the motivation behind the proposal;
- Information about the candidate (annexe no. 2);
- Other documents that, in the candidate’s opinion, are important, related to the submitted work, and demonstrate the participant’s scientific activity
Documents can be provided both in Lithuanian and English. If documents are provided in English, information must include a Lithuanian translation of the name of the submitted scientific paper and summary.

Submission should include the following documents:
- Scientific paper in accordance with annexe no. 1;
- a summary of the work (up to 2,000 words) that includes an introduction, purpose, methodology, key findings of the research, and reveals and summarizes the significance of the results obtained; emphasizes the author's contribution to the work, its innovativeness, and importance.
- copies of publications relevant to the topic of the work being submitted;
- extract from the minutes of the meeting of the academic council of the faculty (institute) of the higher education institution;
- Information about the candidate (annexe no. 2);
- list of scientific works submitted by students of higher education institutions (annexe no. 3);
- kiti, konkurso dalyvio nuomone, svarbūs, su teikiamu darbu susiję ir konkurso dalyvio mokslinį aktyvumą įrodantys dokumentai.
Entries submitted to the competition may be prepared in Lithuanian or English. If the entry is prepared in English, the participant must submit the title and summary (up to 200 words) of the entry in Lithuanian.
