At a meeting held on May 25, the Central Election Commission of Vilnius University assessed the compliance of the candidates listed on the rosters submitted by the core academic units with the requirements set forth in the legal acts governing the election of members of the Vilnius University Senate, and registered the candidates for Senate membership.

The following were elected at the Faculty of Physics:
- Prof. Dr Ramūnas Aleksiejūnas,
- Prof. Dr Egidijus Anisimovas,
- Prof. Dr Robertas Grigalaitis,
- Dr Dalia Kaškelytė.

110 of the 156 voters listed on the faculty's voter registry participated in the Senate election.
In total, the Senate for the new term will consist of 46 members. In addition to the members elected in the units listed above, the Senate will include VU Rector Prof. Dr Rimvydas Petrauskas (ex officio member of the Senate) and 9 student representatives appointed (elected) by the VU Student Council in accordance with established procedures.
The new Senate will begin its work this summer, when it convenes for its first session and elects a president. The date and location of the first session of the new Senate will be announced at a later date. Until then, the Senate formed in 2022 will continue to carry out its duties.
