Faculty of Physics, in cooperation with the laser technology leader UAB "Light Conversion", invites students to apply for a scholarship.
Scholarship Details and Conditions
- Awarded to 7 bachelor's (3rd-4th year) and master's students.
- Duration: 5 months (from March 1 to July 30).
- 350 EUR/month.
- At the time of application and during the scholarship period, candidates may not work in laser technology or photonics companies.
What are the Main Criteria?
- Academic achievements and engagement in science;
- A weighted grade average for the last two semesters of no less than 8.00;
- Engagement in scientific activity and active participation in, or wish to conduct, research related to laser physics and optical technologies.
How and When to Apply?
Applications are open February 4–16, 2026.
Fill out the application form (available on the VU FF website) and submit it via e-mail to along with the following documents:
- A motivation letter (up to 2,000 characters) justifying your desire to conduct research in the specified fields;
- A certificate of academic performance for the last two semesters;
- Proof of scientific achievements (if available) - this can include copies of articles, conference reports, or other documents proving your accomplishments.
The committee will evaluate not only your grades but also your motivation and the relevance of your research topic to the “Light Conversion” activities. At the end of the scholarship period, recipients will be asked to briefly report on their achieved results.
